Know Before the Show

We would like everyone to enjoy their experience at the Polaris Centre. In consideration of other patrons, while in the theatre, we would like to draw your attention to the following:

Accessibility

Yes. The Polaris Centre is laid out with wheelchair users in mind. We have 3 sets of seats set aside for wheelchair/companion patrons, and our Cabaret/VIP tables are wheelchair-friendly.

Wheelchair/companion tickets are password protected to ensure availability. Please contact the Box Office for the password.

There are multiple accessible parking spaces.

The theatre does not provide wheelchairs rentals.

Age Restrictions

Event organizers may set age restrictions for their shows, for example:

  • 18+

  • 13+

  • 8+

  • Family Friendly

Generally, ticketed performances are not suitable for children under the age of 8. Families with small children are advised to purchase tickets near the rear of the auditorium in case leaving the auditorium becomes necessary.

Events advertised as family friendly have no age restriction, with the understanding that unruly children should remove one of their parents from the theatre in a timely fashion.

Arrival Time

Plan to arrive at least 30 minutes prior to your event's scheduled start time. This will leave you enough time to park, check your coat, and enjoy a beverage or snack before the performance.

Beverage & Concession Service

Bar service and light snacks are available in the theatre lobby before each performance and during intermission. This service generally opens one hour before a performance.

Outside food and drinks are prohibited.

Beverages & snacks purchased from concessions are allowed in the auditorium on a show by show basis only at the discretion of the event promoter.

Cell Phones & other Devices

Please refrain from using electronic devices during performances.

Latecomers

Latecomers will be seated by the ushers during a suitable break in the performance.
Please note that for classical music or other music of a ‘serious’ nature, the wait to be seated may be quite lengthy.

At the discretion of the theatre staff, latecomers may be directed to sit in seats close to the theatre door rather than their assigned/purchased seats in order to minimize disruptions to the performance.

London Bar

Avoid the intermission line-up with our London Bar. You can order your pre-show or intermission drinks and snacks at the pre-show bar.

Lost & Found

Please contact the box office at 403-255-9368 between 11:00 AM - 2:00 PM (Tuesday to Thursday).

The Polaris Centre is not responsible for items that are lost or stolen on the premises.

Perfumes & Scents

In consideration to your fellow patrons who may have sensitivities or allergies to scented products, we ask that you use such products with great discretion. If, as a patron, you experience difficulty due to another patron’s use of fragrance, please alert our front of house staff, who will do everything possible to accommodate a move to another seat.

Photography & Recording

Photography and videography is at the discretion of the artist(s) and presenter(s) and is determined on a show by show basis.

By default, please presume that you can only take photos and videos before and after the event and not during.
Patrons who disregard the policy may be asked to surrender their device or leave the theatre.

A photography and video policy will be posted in the lobby, and announced before the show.

Pre-Order Service (London Bar)

The Polaris Centre concession service includes Pre-Order Service for most performances with an intermission. Patrons may arrange intermission drinks (called a London Bar) when they make their their pre-order service at any concession counter before the show and have their beverage of choice waiting for them at the beginning of the intermission.

Ticket Policy

Each person, including children and infants in arms, must have a ticket for each performance. Children under the age of two who remain seated on the lap of an accompanying adult may be admitted free of charge, unless the show's promoter requires all ages to occupy and pay for a seat. It is recommended that attendees confirm with the box office whether the promoter allows children under the age of two at no cost.

Any patron may be required to leave if found to be affecting other patrons’ peaceful and safe enjoyment of the premises.

Theatre management in its sole discretion reserves the right to refuse admission.
Intoxicated and/or unruly patrons will be refused admission with no refund.
