Volunteer Usher Program
Our primary goal at the Polaris Centre is quite simple: to ensure our patrons have a fabulous night of entertainment. From getting their tickets to finding their seats to sitting back and enjoying the show, we want everything to be perfect. As an usher, we want you to help make that happen.
It takes a small army of enthusiastic people to ensure a smooth show - and are always looking for more as our seasons grow. If there’s something happening here, we rely on our fantastic volunteers to help make sure everything runs smoothly.
We are most appreciative of our volunteers, and aim to be extremely respectful of your time. We maintain a large roster of ushers, ensuring that you are able to work the shows that interest you, and on days that are convenient. Aside from getting to watch the shows you work for free, volunteer perks include great tickets to other shows, discounted tickets for friends and family, staff pricing on concessions, and regular volunteer appreciation nights.
Sounds great, but what exactly do ushers do?
As the face of the theatre, it’s up to our ushers to answer questions, show people the way to their seats and have a general knowledge of the theatre, just to name a few duties. Of course, you’re not on your own. A professional team helps with the box office, front-of-house management, and runs the technical and stage department.
