+ How Much Does it Cost

Costs can vary depending on your needs. We'll try to be up front as possible, though.

The base venue rental cost (Monday-Thursday) is $1,000 per day (up to 8 hours)

Clinicians average approximately $65-70 per hour. Guest conductor rates tend to vary, but budget $100-150 per hour to be safe.

You are welcome to arrange your own outside clinicians, have us do it, or use a third-party service. Most clinican booking services add on an commission of 10-15% to cover their administrative and accounting costs. Please budget for this.

If you'd like to add on an afternoon or evening wrap-up concert as part of your camp, we can easily add this on. Theatre technical staff are an extra cost.

+ What Rooms are included

The rental fee includes 8-hour access to the theatre (1000 square foot stage), theatre Lobby, backstage lobby, and two 600 sq ft rehearsal studios. These 5 spaces are typically enough for Junior High startup clinics. The rehearsal studios and backstage lobby are adjoining, but extremely well soundproofed (99% blockage). We have had no complaints using these spaces simultaneously.

If more spaces are required, we have access to another bay (2,700 square feet), a board room, and a small recording control room that can also be made available. The recording studio is best for semi-private instruction with 1-2 students only i.e. bassoon, oboe, or small french horn groups.

+ What Equipment is Available?

The venue includes 40 musician chairs, 120 folding chairs, and 37 music stands. Groups are encouraged to bring extra music stands as required.

School groups must set up and tear down their chairs & stands.

Orchestral Percussion Equipment. The percussion does not belong to the venue. If you'd like to use the Rocky Mountain Symphony's large percussion equipment, a $200 maintenance and upkeep fee will be applied to your invoice. Damage outside normal wear and tear (whether accidental or deliberate) will be billed at actual repair costs + the full costs of replacement/rental equipment for the duration of the repairs.

Due to the relative ease of crash cymbal and snare head damage (and the high cost of replacement for the Symphony's very expensive gear, user groups must supply their own cymbals and snare drums, including stands.

Equipment List:

  • Yamaha 8300 series timpani (32, 29, 26, 23)
  • Yamaha Acoustalon Marimba (4.3 octave)
  • Yamaha Acoustalon Xylophone
  • Deagon Glockenspiel (A=442)
  • Deagon Chimes (A=442)
  • Yamaha 36" Concert Bass Drum
  • Yamaha Tour Custom Drum Kit (including cymbal stands)
  • Sabian 36" Tam Tam (with stand & beater)
  • Campers must supply their own snare drums and cymbals

In addition, 2 Steinway Grand Pianos are available for rent (Stage & Studio B).

+ What About Food & Beverage?

Most day campers find it's easiest to bring their own lunch, just like a normal school day. Other groups like to order lunch platters from Costco and have a parent volunteer pick the order up (it's only 2 km away).

We have long and round tables available for your lunch setup.

Our lobby has a high capacity ice machine and a fountain pop machine. We also have a commercial dishwasher if needed.

For Adult groups, we can arrange to open the bar at lunchtime and breaks as requested.
